I bought this for 5 1/2 inch kyocera ceramic santoku for which there was not room in our knife block. Although the case is far too long length-wise, it is an appropriate fit for width. The rubber bumpers help keep the blade secure once it is snapped closed. I took the knife to a local store to see if the next size down would work, but it was far too narrow.

i was so disappointed to buy this product.
for the following reason:
1. its too bulky
2. my 9 inch boning knife slips through the rubber making bladesafe unsafe in my case
3. I think the other brand was way better than this.
