After shopping around for a reliable baby monitor and only finding models that come with so many bells and whistles, I gave up... until I came across this little gem! All I needed was a monitor that provided sound for when my daughter wakes from either her naps or during the night; those "bells and whistles" with the other models that appear to be bigger sellers just didn't make sense to me. I mean, who really needs to watch their baby sleep, know the exact temperature ambiance of the room, have 2 way intercom...and who knows what other things the pricier versions provide?
This product is highly reliable right out of the box. Literally just plug it in and go! The baby monitor unit is placed across a 13 foot room, used in a room with a white noise sound machine, and it still picks up her noise. The parent unit I keep plugged in during the night, but remains unplugged during the day when I am up and about the house when she naps. It has about a 5 hour battery life, which most days is adequate. The units are lightweight and very portable. I have not experienced any interference or strange noise with the monitor, either.
This is the perfect digital baby audio monitor for the parent who doesn't need all the frills the pricier versions offer.

I have a lot of electronics at home and live in an apartment complex. The last thing we needed for our sleep-deprived nights was to have a baby monitor that was static-y or that forced us to fiddle with channels. I was close to buying the Avent DECT model but it is really expensive and stuffed with unnecessary features. I wanted a digital monitor that just worked. I didn't find any trustworthy reviews for this motorola model so I was a bit wary but it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It also doesn't really say anywhere what digital technology it uses. It seems to be very similar to DECT but perhaps doesn't qualify for the specification for some reason.
I am really glad that I took a chance because it is an outstanding monitor. We plug both parts in, turn them on and it just works. The only adjustment it seems to have is for receiver volume and that's really all I need! Shame that this doesn't seem to be widely available in the US. Based on reviews for other products, I think this one would blow the others away for a totally fair price when compared to Avent. If you can get this one for a good price, I wouldn't hesitate. I only negative I can think of is that the shape makes it very unstable if you want to stand it up - but it's really not necessary to stand it up in any case.

We have had several baby monitors. This one has been the best so far. No interference, no constant, obnoxious beeping. Very impressive monitor, especially for the price.
