I have used this lemon Eucalyptus spray in a variety of settings, including a 10 day river trip in the Amazon Basin. I have found it to be very effective against a variety of biting insects.

Pros:
Is just as effective against bugs as DEET, some times it seemed to work even better than DEET.
Safe and natural (not all natural repellents are safe. Plants produce toxic compounds too!)
Smells and feels much better than DEET.

CONS:
Only seems to work for an hour, then the bugs come back for blood! For this reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Sure, it repels...insects, animals, small children...when you take anything that smells THAT bad, you can repel ANYTHING. Heck, I even repel myself when I try to use it. The smell is terrible...and STRONG. You also get a nice little choking fit whenever you spray it. I recently purchased Cutter Backwoods Unscented Insect Repellent (the pump spray version)...it works great, is a better value, and has little to no scent. Love it!
