I'm amazed that someone would give this book 1 star because of their own misinterpretation of the title. In the Product Description, it is clearly started that these are the rituals of the Tuatha De Danann Celtic COVEN. Even the main title - An Irish Book of Shadows - should have given a clue that this was not a tome on Druidism.
The Tuatha, as a mythical group, pre-dates Druidism and is not synonymous with it, neither are the Old Gods the exclusive domain of the new Druidic movement. Tuatha De Danann, in this instance, is the name of the Wiccan tradition to which the author belongs.
The reviewer points out that this is a great reference book for Wiccans. With that, I agree. There is a compendium of Irish gods which is well worth while, and a complete ritual systems which incorporates some interesting twist, such as the creation of a ritual corn dollie for the fall. It allows for self-initiation and has clear explanations of the eight sabbats.
Is it a book of Druidism? No. Is it a well written volume on Irish traditions as they have dove-tailed with Wicca? Yes. Do what the prior reviewer suggested: give a copy to a Wiccan friend!

I bought this book thinking it was a book on Druidism, because the title is very misleading. In Irish history, the Tuatha De Dannan (The Children of Danu, i.e. The Divine Feary Folk) were associated with the Driuds, and Druidism is my spiritual path of choice, which influenced my decision to purchase the book. I ordered this book thinking it would be a great reference book, and came to find that it was a Wiccan study book of rituals (the true Tuatha De Dannan originally had nothing to do with Wicca- this leads me to believe this is definitely a neo-pagan book, which is not my cup of tea). I was hoping that this book would at least have some background on the (real) Tuatha De Dannan described in Irish folklore, so I decided to give it a read anyway. It had very little to do with the old Irish traditions and Celtic spirituality, and instead, was written about and/or for Wiccan covens and their rituals, rather than what most people know as the Tuatha De Dannan. If it had anything to do at all with old Celtic spiritualism, it was extremely watered down in context. This book is a great reference book for those who follow Wicca; however, do not be fooled by its title, as this book has very little reference to the subject it is advertised for. I was seriously disappointed in this book, and its only saving grace is that I have a Wiccan friend who would be happy to have it.

Ms Clark's book, "An Irish Book of Shadows -TDD", is a work of scholarship and practical knowledge written in a language that is both delightful and comprehendible. The book presents in a concise manner the spiritual beliefs and rituals practiced by Ms. Clark's group (Tuatha de Danann). It is a unique and delightful departure from the "Cast A Spell for Dummies" books that have flooded the market. Emphasis is placed on the spiritual "why" rather than on the quick "how to" magical fix. The compendium of Gods and Goddesses is a who's who of Irish deities with their respective attributes and myths giving clarity to an otherwise confusing pantheon.
This book is a wonderful read and provides excellent reference material. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
